From the realm of the wild

The Slavonian-Baranja table is richly gifted by the land, water, and forest. The green expanses of the lowlands are roamed by numerous wild game, which have always been one of the most representative elements of our gastronomy. This is the case even today, when roe deer, roe deer, fallow deer, boars, rabbits and other inhabitants of both the deep forest and the airy meadow next to the field, hit by bad fate, end up in the kitchens of our renowned restaurants.

So in "Josić" game will be prepared in a forest style, in a mushroom and cranberry sauce. A similar fate awaits her in "Citadel". In "Čingi-lingi" they will make carpaccio or steak from venison, while "Darócz" will boast roast rabbit with bacon, or pork perkelt. In a more classic way, they will play with game in "Kormoran" in Kopački rit and "Citadela" in Vardarac. On the other hand, seemingly extravagantly contemporary, but actually almost forgotten, traditional recipes for snail dishes will welcome you at "Baranjska kuća" in Karanac.

In short, although you can also find it on menus from the Slavonian side of our county, the "venison" gastro-section clearly shows that there is no superstructure without a good base - in this particular case, it is the untouched natural expanses of Baranja, where most of our untamed animal company comes from.
