Winter fair and Čvarakfest
On the last Saturday in November (November 26), as every year, the fattest, tastiest festival in the region awaits you, the one dedicated to “Baranja truffles” – ČVARCI.
U Karancu se tradicionalno, na sajamskoj livadi uz crkvu sv. Donata, održava najveći sajam domaćih proizvoda u regiji. Zimski vašar je idealan događaj koji nudi proizvode gotovo 80 lokalnih proizvođača domaćih proizvoda, mahom baranjskih i slavonskih OPG-ovaca.
Here you can make purchases and fill your pantry shelves for the whole winter. Famous cured meat products from Baranja (kulen, bacon, sausage, ham, crackers, lard…), wine, brandy, juices, cheeses, pastries, cakes, honey, ground red pepper, wicker baskets, wooden kitchen utensils, souvenirs, antiques…
Of course, what would it be like in Baranja without our famous cuisine, so at Vašar you can taste shepherd’s pie, beans from a clay pot, kollovina, baked sausages, carp in forks and “water down” all this with top quality wine. Prije ručka ne zaboravite nazdraviti čokanjčićem domaće rakije.
Tijekom Zimskog vašara se održava i Čvarakfest, u isto vrijeme i na istom mjestu.
