Osijek: A kids-friendly town
Osijek is a dream city for cyclists. With the longest river promenade in Croatia, every visitor should pack some cycling gear. Bring your bikes and scooters and head to this charming river city! Start by going to the mentioned promenade and ride from Višnjevac to Lower Town or vice versa. You can take a break at the numerous children’s playgrounds along the way, which stretch to the suspension bridge leading to new adventures on the left bank of the Drava River. Here, you'll find the educational trail "Tvrđavica", a skatepark, the Copacabana beach and pool complex, and the Zoo. Did you know that Osijek Zoo is the largest in Croatia? Its 11 hectares is home to more than 1,000 animals. It’s the perfect place for recreation, education, research, and outdoor activities. (The ticket price for children is €2 and for adults €4. Children under three have free entry.)

Family Zoo
Smaller, but worth a visit is the Bizik Family Zoo - Educational Park in Našički Markovac. With many animals from almost all parts of the world, you can enjoy a beautiful family environment that exudes the hard work and love of a united family.

"Vrtna bajka" (“Garden fairytale”) in Čepin
The "Vrtna bajka" ("Garden fairytale") in Čepin is a large green kingdom that serves as a botanical garden with over 250 plant species. Visitors can also enjoy seeing striped squirrels, Cochin chickens, and carrier pigeons, which are always a delight for children. The garden features various themed areas such as the Mediterranean, Japanese, Water, Flower, Country, Secret, and Spice gardens spread across a vast area. It has become a popular picnic spot for Osijek residents and their guests. The garden's wooden house is particularly charming, providing shade in the summer and a cozy atmosphere in the winter with a fireplace. During the most wonderful time of the year, you’ll find Santa there!

A Whole Galaxy of Fun
When the iconic Osijek “Old Dancing Hall” in the City Garden building was refurbished, it was destined for a new purpose. This place holds historic significance for the locals – it was here that Osijek was declared a Free and Royal town. Today, it has been transformed into “Astrogarden” – an ideal venue for creating happy moments with your young ones and a children’s playroom that your whole family will remember fondly for years.
