FAMILY CORNER: Swimwear or Ice Skates, that’s the Question
When the whole family needs to be entertained, water is the way to go in Slavonia and Baranja. The rivers are sources of fun in the summer, the promenades that stretch along them perfect for quiet walks in the winter. If you’re looking for fun for everyone in or around water in the winter, indoor pools are a good place to start, but outdoor activities are not to be excluded. On the contrary.
Swimming
Osijek boasts of a well-maintained indoor swimming pool complex, perfect for year-round enjoyment. The pools are intended for all age groups, and offer shallow sections for the little ones, as well as an Olympic pool for those who take swimming more seriously. Relax in the pleasantly warm water, attend swimming lessons or participate in other activities. The complex also includes a sauna.
The Vukovar Sports Facilities swimming pool complex is another excellent option. Known for its family atmosphere, the pool offers a shallow children's section with an inflatable aqua park. After your swim, relax in the sauna or with a hot drink at the poolside cafe. A large, modern and fully equipped gym is also available on site.

Ice Skating
For families who prefer to move in the crisp winter air, ice rinks are a must. The largest ice skating rink is located in Osijek, but there are also those in Vukovar, Vinkovci, Belišće and Našice, and smaller places often set up their own as well. They are busy and lively places where children and parents can skate together, and you can rent skates on the spot. Courses, events and competitions are often held, which further increases the excitement. Skating rinks are always located near the warm and inviting lights and Christmas markets, so be sure to stop there for a glass of mulled wine or hot cocoa to warm up and relax after this cheerful winter activity.
And the answer to the question, unlike the doubts of the prince of Denmark, might not be that hard after all - do as you please, but best try both.
