Wine Month of the Osijek-Baranja County

An Oeno-mathematical quiz for all lovers of a good riddle, top-quality wine and great company

We are not all mathematical types, but even the biggest number-haters have already found one mathematical enigma close to their hearts. How is it possible that one month lasts three?

Easy – in Slavonia and Baranja, time flies, and you don’t want to miss the wine month. During May, June and early July, vineyards become meeting places, cellars open to visitors, and city squares and parks are transformed into spaces for socializing, music and enjoyment.

For the seventh time, this year, the Osijek-Baranja County Tourist Board, in cooperation with the tourist boards of Valpovo, Osijek, Draž, Baranja, Našice, Erdut and Đakovo, proudly presents the extended Wine Month of Osijek-Baranja County, which will last from 2.5. to 11.7. 2026.

This year’s program begins on May 2 in Erdut with the Vina Erdut Wine & Picnic, an event that combines top-quality wines with a relaxed atmosphere with the most attractive view of the Danube. Valpovo on May 9 brings together lovers of authentic flavors at the Cheese and Wine Festival – Festival sira i vina, while the middle of the month brings a strong rhythm – on May 16, the Večer vina i umjetnosti and Vinolina in Zmajevac are held, two events that connect wine with artistic expression in different ways.

Osijek on May 23 becomes the starting point for the Osijek Wine & Walk, a unique urban wine walk, while the end of May culminates with one of the most recognizable events – the Vinathlon – Vinatlon in Zmajevac (May 29-31), which combines wine, sports, entertainment and tradition into a unique Baranja experience.

June continues in an equally rich rhythm – on June 5, in addition to the Dought Festival – Festival Tista, Wine and Tamburitza – Vino i tambure is held in Topolje, where wine is naturally complemented by the sounds of traditional music, and Wine & Gallop Beats in Feričanci, which brings a combination of wine stories and equestrian ambiance. On June 6, everyone is invited to the traditional Baranja Wine & Walk.

Mid-June brings a more elegant tone with the Wine Evening in the Park – Večer vina u perivoju in Našice (June 12), after which the emphasis shifts to winemakers and their cellars through the Days of Open Wine Cellars of the Đakovo Winecountry – Dani otvorenih vinskih podruma Đakovačkog vinogorja in Mandićevac (June 19) and the finale in Trnava with Bonavita (June 20). The program symbolically rounds off July, when another edition of the Wine and Art Evenings – Večeri vina i umjetnosti is held in Osijek on July 10th and 11th.

It is precisely in this continuous dynamic of events that the uniqueness of this region lies. Wine Month is not just a series of events, but an experience that allows visitors to experience Slavonia and Baranja through all its layers: from vineyards and cellars to restaurants, from tradition to contemporary interpretations. It’s easy to come for one month and stay for three.
