Carnival 2027: Đakovački Bušari
We are pleased to announce the traditional carnival event “Đakovački Bušari”, which will take place in Đakovo on January 30th and 31st 2027.
For the 33st time, the Bušari of Đakovo will revive carnival customs, song, dance and craziness through the streets of our city, and we, as the organizer, invite you to be a part of the Bušari procession and the carnival joy of the biggest carnival manifestation in eastern Croatia.
The manifestation itself consists of “Bušarenje” – a walk along the Đakovo corso street, central pedestrian zone, with the presentation and sale of traditional and autochthonous products, street entertainers: painters, jugglers, stilt walkers, clowns (in the morning) and the central event: Đakovački Bušari – carnival processions (in the afternoon). – January 30th, 2027.
Already traditionally, the day after the big “Buše” procession, i.e. on January 31st, 2027, it is planned to hold a carnival horse-ride. A custom that is characteristic of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem. Riding through a nearby village, the riders stop at individual families (stations) who treat them to Slavonian dishes and drinks, and the riders repay them with a song.
“Đakovački Bušari” is a meeting place of past, present and future; culture, diversity and identity. A meeting place of customs, life and differences of certain parts of Đakovo and the entire Republic of Croatia and abroad, because in the carnival procession groups from all over the Republic of Croatia are expected, and the event itself has an international character with the inevitable “Mohács Buso” from Hungary and guests from Slovenia.
