Come spring and nature awakens, the green forests and colourful fields call us to wake up from hibernation, leave the house and venture outdoors. In this segment, too, Slavonia and Baranja<\/strong> have more and more to offer to those who like exploring on two wheels. Pump up your tires, oil the chain and discover the trails we have prepared. Whether you prefer to wander around the steep mountain slopes or road cycling<\/strong>, be that in the company of friends or you want to take your family for a loop around the rural house you\u2019re staying at, there is a trail for everyone. You can find more than 30 suggestions on cycling trails<\/strong> (ver 700 kilometres) on this link www.visitslavoniabaranja.com\/outdoors\/bike<\/a><\/strong>, so we suggest you don\u2019t bother with the rest of this article, but HeadOnBike!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyclotourist Routes<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suggested circular cycling routes cover all the main attractions. If you\u2019re staying in Osijek, we invite you to cycle to the Kopa\u010dki Rit Nature Park<\/em><\/strong>, maybe towards the Bizovac thermal spa<\/em><\/strong>, detox in the forests by the Drava or cycle along the route of the great military leaders, i.e. the castles in Darda and Bilje<\/em><\/strong>. If you\u2019re staying in Karanac, be sure to head to the Belje vineyards<\/em><\/strong> to cycle along one of the most beautiful wine roads in Croatia or the loess plateau towards the Kne\u017eevi Vinogradi swimming pools<\/em><\/strong>. Not far from there, you\u2019ll find the route through the biggest town of Baranja, leading to another pool complex, the one in Beli Manastir. And why would you wander through the wine cellars of Zmajevac<\/em><\/strong> on foot when you can cycle them? Of course, we do not recommend drinking and cycling, except at the end of the route – which is always at one of the cellars. Animal lovers can look for wild life on the Game Routes<\/em>, check out the Batina Monument<\/em><\/strong> or explore the wilderness of Zlatna Greda and Tikve\u0161 in the forests by the Danube<\/em><\/strong>. Though it may not be suitable for swimming, the \u0160oka\u010dkim Vezom<\/em> path leads towards the Dra\u017e beach<\/em><\/strong>, which boasts about the most beautiful sunset in Baranja<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stress Relief Therapy<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All fans of mountain biking will enjoy the trails ascending 1,000 metres on the Baranjskim Surducima i Krndija <\/em>trail (Through the Gorges of Baranja and Krndija). So don\u2019t tell us it\u2019s all flat in Slavonia and Baranja<\/em><\/strong>. In the Na\u0161ice region, the easiest route is the one from the centre of Na\u0161ice towards Lapovac, and wine lovers<\/em><\/strong> can cycle off to the famous Feri\u010danci location and restaurant Gove\u0111a Glava<\/em><\/strong>(opening planned in early summer 2025)<\/em>. In \u0110akovo<\/em><\/strong>, head from the cathedral<\/em><\/strong> via Jo\u0161ava to Ivandvor<\/em><\/strong> or to the shrine of Dragotin. If you like cycling through the forest<\/em><\/strong>, be sure to do so from Drenje to Borovik lake<\/em><\/strong> or take the Krndija and Dilj (Levanjska Varo\u0161)<\/em> trail, which will help dispel your preconceived notions about Slavonia as a flatland. You can pass through the largest vineyard in Croatia<\/em><\/strong>, that of Erdut<\/em><\/strong>, measuring 550 hectares, following any of the three Erdut trails: Erdut Wine Peninsula<\/em> (45 km), Planina i Ravnjak<\/em> (15 km) and Small Wine Circuit <\/em>(7 km).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newest trails have been established in the area of \u200b\u200bBeli\u0161\u0107e, Valpovo, Donji Miholjec and Bizovac, and we\u2019re inviting you to discover them all and enjoy cycling along the Drava<\/em><\/strong> and Kara\u0161ica rivers, through the green forests and colourful fields<\/em><\/strong> or ponds with thousands of birds. In conclusion, the region of Slavonia and Baranja is the new hit cycling destination<\/em><\/strong>. It’s up to you to make the wheels turn and get your dose of anti-stress therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
